Energy Conservation
Lights28 Green School Kids Club Students and 5 staff members made and installed light switch covers for all classrooms and hallways in the entire school like this one. It reminds students/teachers to keep one switch off and to use the natural light whenever possible. This is also something that the 5th Grade Green Patrol checks to see if each classroom is doing when they visit each Friday morning.

Blackout Day
Each year, WES celebrates Earth Day for a whole week. In 2018, we honored conservation of electricity by having a blackout day. We kept the lights off and did not use electricity as much as possible. All lights were kept off and we used the sunlight from the windows instead. We talked a lot about how to conserve electricity at home as well.

Computer Monitor Tags
17 Green School Kids Club students created and installed these computer monitor tags at the power button to remind students to turn the monitor off when not in use. This conserves energy when possible. The tag says "Turn me off".
